Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have been employed after six months of dating. “Yes, we are pleased to confirm that they are engaged,” Simpson’s rep said Sunday. The Dukes of Hazzard star flashed her engagement ring for the first time Saturday in an in-store appearance at Dillard’s in Kansas City. Simpson, 30, and Johnson, 31, have been almost inseparable since they were introduced by friends back in May.
Johnson, a former NFL player who finalized his divorce from stylist Keri Johnson earlier this year, while Simpson split with ex Nick Lachey in 2005 after three years of marriage. As fate would have it, Lachey recently become engaged to his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo – news that Simpson to asted when she spoke to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show last week. Johnson last played for the New Orleans Saints in 2007.
Although no wedding date has been revealed, is Jessica and Eric is planning to spend Thanks giving together in NYC, where Simpson said: “We are all to be in New York. I’ll be on a raft. It is not always the best way to spend Thanks giving, but it is a good way to celebrate. So maybe I just have all the families on the float. ”
