Amarnath Yatra for the moment halted in Udhampur

The annual Amaranth Yatra has been halted by the authority on Wednesday morning in Udhampur district of jammu and Kashmir.

The first lot of buses is expected to reach the shrine, located at the hight of 13500 feet Thursday. According to authorities , this was done to ensure the safety of the pilgrims as the vally witnessed violent protests in the last 2 days in which at least 6 civilians have been killed.

Kotwal said that the pilgrims will be “encorted by the police and paramilitary forces along the route as also at their camps.”

The authorities have deployed 50 companies of the CRP force and police for the safety of the pilgrims. Tens of thousands mmake it every year to the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir, dedicated to LORD SHIVA.

On Wednesday , jun 30 morning , the first batch of pilgrims began the journey to the amaranth shrine amid heavy security.
