Sony Releases New Tablet S in India at Rs 29,990

Time and a half months after it was first unveiled Sony launched its Tablet PC, Sony Tablet S in the Indian market. Tablet S is one of the first two tablet devices from the Japanese electronics giant.Sony has added some additional features to its tablet devices in an attempt to set them apart from the pack, iPad competitors. Tablet S is the size of an iPad, can serve as a universal remote.

The tablet is wedge-shaped, with one side thicker than the other. The shape mimics a magazine that has been thrown over.The tablet ties to other Sony properties. For example, the Tablet’s able to run games made for the original PlayStation and PlayStation Portable, and programs that connect to the Sony Music Unlimited and Unlimited video content stores, formerly known as Qriocity.Android 3.2-powered device has a 9.4-inch (XGA 1280×800) display, 1GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory.

Tablet S has a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. Sony India is not a list of the 32 GB version of its website. Sony Tablet S is priced at Rs 29990.Sony is already late to the tablet game with their first tablet launched more than a year and a half years after Apple launched the iPad, and almost a year ago, Samsung came out with GalaxyTab.

Tech reviewers credited Sony to come up with a unique curved design of the S tablet that looks like a folded-back tray and makes it easier to hold with one hand, but the quality of the hardware was asked.Once a symbol of Japan’s high-tech maybe, Sony is struggling under the weight of their money, lose TV division and badly need the boost of a hit product.
